The Portsmouth Free Public Library celebrated Ireland on Tuesday evening with the family program "Celtic Music and
Dancing." Celtic harpist and vocalist Mary King and Phil Edmonds played the tin whistle, button accordion, fiddle, harp and drum, bringing traditional Irish music to the library. The event,
funded by the North Family Trust, also featured jokes, anecdotes and stories. King also taught several attendants how to dance an Irish jig. — Portsmouth Patch, March 15, 2011 |
Mary King and Phil Edmonds are both gifted performers with a wonderful, winsome manner, quick on their feet, both literally and figuratively.
Children and adults have a wonderful Irish experience during their program. — Marjorie Turner Hollman, Bellingham, MA
